This unit works to:
insure the quality of teaching and learning through technology support
extend the learning environment beyond the physical campus
support the enhancement of the technology infrastructure across the campus
support the campus mission with regards to access to technology for disabled students
IT Specialists in this unit provide the following support:
- Trouble-shooting hardware, software and network problems.
- Provide recommendations for procurement of software and hardware.
- Maintain institutional servers or computers and software used for institutional purposes.
- Maintain the campus computer networks.
- Establish academic computing policies and procedures for campus technology resources.
Software Operating Systems Support Exceptions. Due to discontinuation of Microsoft support and network security vulnerabilities, the following are operating systems that we do not support or maintain.
- Windows 95
- Windows 98/ME and Windows NT 4: Minimal support beginning June 30 after Microsoft support is discontinued. After January 1, 2007, we will no longer support these systems.
- Mac OS before 8.6
- Mac OS 8.6: Minimal support.
